It's That Time of Year To...

Registration for the 2008 summer reading program begins May 27, at all Jackson-George Regional Library System locations. The reading program for children is designed to help kids discover the pleasure of reading. This year's theme, "Catch the Reading Bug," will let children discover the world of insects and the fun of reading.

Each branch library will host special programs each week which are completely free. Weekly programs for each of three age groups will include; pre-school storytime, SRP grade-school programs, and a special "Metamorphosis" Teen programs.

The highlight program is a visit from Nationally known children’s book illustrator, Chuck Galey, during the last week of July - 7th - 10th. Chuck’s presentation will thrill young bug readers and teach them how to draw the strangest bugs they’ve ever seen. Chuck has been presenting summer reading programs to libraries all over the southeast for over nine years to rave reviews.
