East Central Library Friends Thankful Essay Contest Winners

Friends of the East Central Public Library once again held the annual "Be Thankful" essay contest. About 235 entries were submitted this year from the 5th and 6th grade classes at East Central schools this year.

All entries will be on display in the library until Monday, December 1. Students will be able to share their essays with families over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Friends extended an invitation to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbon winners to the annual Friends Thanksgiving luncheon held at the library meeting room recently.

Winners were; 5th grade; Garrett Hamilton - 1st, Austin Cirlot - 2nd, and Zoey Lampkin - 3rd. Sixth grade winners were; Jacob Collins - 1st, C.J. Roberts - 2nd, and Taylor Leighann Roebuck - 3rd.

Other 5th grade winners were; Brooklyn Glaskox, Samantha Waltman, Devan Whitfield, Ricky Broome, and Kaleigh Harris. Sixth grade winners were; McKenna Ahlberg, Joshua Trussell, Chesney Cummins, Jenarae Martin, and Caden Goodnight.
